The lactic acid bacteria are widely recognized as having a positive effect on human (and animal) health, principally by improving the balance of the intestinal flora.

Products based on lactic bacteria are often used in pharmaceutical applications such as gastro-enteritis, vaginal mycose or cosmetics, as well as in the food industry in the preparing food supplements for intestinal disorder, gastric acidity or lactose intolerance.

Today, while this notion is universally accepted and recognized, the mechanisms of action and selection of the most effective bacterial strains are still subjects of much research around the world. THT is participating intensely in this work by continually improving and diversifying its line of pure cultures and other health products available to its clients.

In order to contribute in the demonstration of the efficacity 's evidence of these products, THT is also carrying out several clinical tests on these preparations, within various hospitals.
